Korean Language Program

Program Goals

Strengthening Korea’s international status and establishing a foundation for securing global talent by expanding Korean language education around the world, including opening Korean language classes as a foreign language in overseas elementary and middle schools

Support Contents
1. Support for schools adopting the Korean language
2. Support for Korean teachers and educational administrators
3. Support for Korean language class students
4. Establishment of a Korean language education foundation
5. Support for regional events (special projects, etc.)

Support Criteria
▪ Support for schools adopting Korean language
– When a school with a need to open a Korean language class submits an application to the Korean Education Center, the number of Korean language classes, number of students, and class hours are considered, and the results of a demand survey through overseas diplomatic missions are reflected to provide differentiated support for each school within the total budget range, and adjustments are made within the budget range. ▪ Other programs
– Every year, the support criteria, support amount, etc. are announced, and after receiving applications for the project, selections are made through screening and differentiated support is provided.
