Notice for the 108th Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) - Portland State University

The 108th Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) will be administered at Portland State University in Oregon.

TOPIK is the official Korean language proficiency test developed by the Government of the Republic of Korea. Those who hold a valid TOPIK score may receive preferential consideration when applying for study at Korean universities, employment opportunities in Korea, and various scholarships and training programs organized by the Korean government.

Details regarding the test administration and registration are provided below:

■ Test Information

- Eligibility : Foreign nationals and overseas Koreans who do not use Korean as their native language

- Registration Period : July 13, 2026 – July 24, 2026

- Registration Method : Online application through Google Form (https://forms.gle/JSmMseTGLiZDeaMR8)

• After completing the online application(Google Form), the test fee must be submitted by check via mail for the registration to be finalized (Based on mail arrival date)
• Mailing with tracking information is highly recommended (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
• Individual registration only (group registration and registration by proxy are not allowed)

- Test Fees : TOPIK I - $40 / TOPIK II - $55

- Test Fee Refund Policy

• From the opening of registration until July 24 midnight : Full refund (100%)
• From July 25 until July 31 midnight : 50% refund
• From August 1, 1:00 PM until the day before the test : 40% refund

- Requirements for Registration : Application form, Test fee, Identification document, Passport-style photo file

• Application Form : Complete the Google Form application [See Reference 1 in attached file]
• Test Fee : Submit a check by mail (Payable to Consulate General of Republic of Korea)
• Identification Document* : Acceptable IDs include Passport, Driver’s license, Student ID, etc.

* Must include the applicant’s photo, date of birth, and full name / * Must not be expired

※ If a student ID does not show the date of birth, additional documentation such as a birth certificate must be submitted.

• Photo File Requirements : File format - JPG / File size - 200KB or less / Dimensions - 3cm×4cm (354×472 pixels)

- Application for Disability Accommodations [See Reference 2 in attached file]

• Applicants requesting accommodations due to disabilities may receive support depending on the type and degree of disability.
• Application Period : From the first day of registration until 5 days after the registration deadline
• Required Documents : Application form for disability accommodations (Original version and Korean translation), Doctor’s medical diagnosis (English version)

- Score Announcement : December 10, 2026

• Score reports can be printed free of charge during the validity period through the TOPIK website(www.topik.go.kr)

■ Test Administration

- Test Date : Saturday, October 17, 2026

- Test Location : Portland State University(1825 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97201)

• Specific classroom information will be announced separately at a later date.

■ Test Instructions

- Arrival Time : Applicants must arrive at the test room at least 30 minutes before the start of the exam

- Items Applicants Must Bring : Admission ticket, Valid identification document, White out

- Important Notes for Applicants [See Reference 3 in attached file]

• Late registration is not allowed after the registration period.
• All wristwatches, including analog watches, are prohibited.
• Applicants cannot take the test at a different test location from the one they registered for. Test center changes are not allowed.
• If fewer than 10 applicants register for a specific test level (TOPIK I or TOPIK II), the test may be canceled.
• Applicants requesting disability accommodations must submit required documents within the designated period.
• Applicants without an acceptable form of identification will not be allowed to take the test.
• Applicants must carefully review information regarding cheating and disciplinary procedures. Any disadvantages resulting from failure to review this information are the applicants’ responsibility.
• If registration information is incomplete or the submitted photo does not meet requirements, applicants may be asked to make corrections. Failure to respond may result in rejection of the application or disadvantages on test day.
• English names must be written using the English alphabet.
• Requests to correct applicant’s information can only be made until the test date.
• Applicants must verify the information on their score report after scores are released. After the test date, personal information cannot be corrected except in cases caused by the test administration organization. (Corrections to be made due to errors by the test administration organization are only possible within 4 weeks after the score announcement date.)
