[Notice] 2026 K-Summer Camp Volunteer Recruitment

The Seattle Office of Korean Education, under the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle, is pleased to announce volunteer recruitment for the 2026 K-Summer Camp.

This camp is an official Korean culture and language experience program operated in partnership with Korea's Ministry of Education and provincial offices of education. Now in its second year, the 2026 camp will welcome elementary school students (grades 1–6, 2026–27 school year) and will be held at Lake Grove Elementary School in Federal Way, WA, from July 27–31, 2026.

Volunteers will work alongside professional educators invited from Korea and local Korean language teachers to support a rich program of cultural activities — including traditional performing arts, taekwondo, craft-making, Korean cooking, cooperative games, and the newly introduced "Learning Korea Through Stories" curriculum centered on Korean folktales and historic figures.

We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, responsible, and committed to supporting a positive and meaningful experience for all participants. No Korean language skills are required.

Eligibility: High school students (rising 9th grade and above), college students, and adults.

Volunteer Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily (July 27–31, 2026)

Please note that volunteers aged 17 and older are required to complete a background check prior to participation. Volunteer certificates are available upon request.

시애틀한국교육원은 우리 지역의 초등학생(1~6학년)을 대상으로 제2회 썸머캠프를 개최할 예정입니다.

이 뜻깊은 행사에 함께할 자원봉사자를 다음과 같이 모집하오니, 관심 있는 분들의 많은 참여를 부탁드립니다.

본 캠프는 대한민국 교육부 및 시도교육청과 협력하여 운영되는 공식 한국문화·언어 체험 캠프입니다.

2026년에는 Federal Way 소재 Lake Grove Elementary School에서 2026–27학년도 기준 1–6학년 초등학생을 대상으로, 7월 27일(월)부터 7월 31일(금)까지 5일간 진행됩니다.

자원봉사자는 대한민국에서 초청된 교육 전문가 및 서북미 지역 한국어 교사들과 함께 캠프 운영을 지원하게 됩니다.

주요 활동으로는 전통무형문화 체험(북청사자놀음 등), 태권도 및 전통놀이, 공예품 제작(갓·탈 만들기), 한식 만들기, 협동 놀이, 그리고 신설 프로그램 「이야기로 배우는 한국」(전래동화 및 역사적 위인 중심 수업) 등이 포함됩니다.

책임감 있고 열정적으로 참여하실 분을 환영하며, 한국어 구사 능력은 필요하지 않습니다.

모집 대상: 2026–27학년도 기준 9학년 이상 고등학생, 대학생 및 성인

활동 시간: 매일 오전 8:00 – 오후 4:00 (7월 27일–31일)

자원봉사자 신청 마감일: 2026년 6월 26일

만 17세 이상 참가자는 사전 신원조회(Background Check)가 필수적으로 진행됩니다. 자원봉사 확인서는 요청 시 발급 가능합니다.
